Beginner's Workshop on Funding Applications

On May 6th 2021 the Unit for Research Funding at LMU organizes a "Beginner's Workshop on Funding Applications" as a webinar, addressing conceptual and practical aspects of funding applications. The webinar is targeted at early postdoctoral researchers as well as doctoral students within the last six months of finishing their PhD who want to pursue a career in academia and have had little or no experience with writing grant applications so far.

In the first part of the workshop, you will be given an overview of why third-party funding opportunities are important and where you can apply within the German and EU funding programmes depending on your career stage. The second part will familiarize you with key elements and strategies of how to successfully apply. Please note that this is not a dedicated workshop on how to write an application. Finally, there will be information about the services offered by LMU's Research Funding Unit as well as a virtual networking lunch where you can talk with your fellow peers. The afternoon Q&A session provides the opportunity to share further in-depth questions with the group.

The workshop is open exclusively to members of the LMU and will be held in English.
